November So Far...

On to November… It is more than halfway over! I can’t believe how quickly time goes by!

This first picture here show an 80 day difference in Max’s size. The picture on the left was taken on August 15 when Max was exactly 5 weeks old. He was so tiny! His feet don’t even poke out of his pajamas! The picture on the right was taken on November 1 when Max was 16 weeks, 3 days old. His pajamas are now MAJOR floods!!

Here are a couple other photos from November 1...

HaHaHa, I love this kid!

On November 2, I FINALLY got Max to laugh for me! He still does not laugh very often, but we’re working on it… He does no enjoy being tickled and when tolerates it, he doesn’t tolerate it for long. We’ve tried a number of other things, but he’s just no super-laughy yet…

Max is getting quite the little tummy… HaHa. He is way cute, though! Here are some pictures from November 5.

Max can hold his head steady enough to do some more adventurous things now… One of these things is standing up! He LOVES standing! Here are some pictures we got of him standing on November 6.

LOVING standing up!

Laying in the leaves!

Our little turkey know how to get gloves and shoes and booties off!!

Daddy and Max!

Mommy and Max!

He is getting really good at pushing himself up, too! He’s not to his knees yet, but he is close to having his hips off the ground during Tummy Time!

On November 7, our little family finally managed to get some family pictures. I wanted to go to Memory Grove Park in Salt Lake, but we haven’t been feeling up to the drive lately, so we decided to go to UVU (where Ry is currently attending school). I was the photographer for all of our pictures and boy, were some of these shots hard to get! I had ten seconds to get in the pictures, and for some of them, I had to run across parking lots, run up hills, run up hills and dive and slide upside down… But, I am pleased with most of what we got, even if I do look a bit disheveled in most of them!

Anyway, here are some of the pictures we got!

And here are a few other pictures I took of Max that day. Poor kid. Lucky Ryan. I’ve moved on from endlessly photographing my husband to endlessly photographing my son…

Here are some pictures of November 9. As I’ve mentioned before, Max LOVES standing…

On November 10, Max had his four month check up. I can’t believe he is that old already!! He is growing up WAY too fast!

Here are Max’s four month stats:

Head Circumference: 16.5 inches (40.71 percentile)
Height: 25.75 inches (79.74 percentile)
Weight: 16.53 pounds (81.25 percentile)

Ryan told me he couldn’t make it to Max’s appointment this time, so Max and I went alone. I was surprised to see him after Max and I were taken to our room and I was told to undress him. He made my day! Anyway, when the doctor came in, I asked about his head--the doctor didn’t even seem to remember that it had ever been an issue! So Dr. Gibson checked him out and stated that he does not need a helmet! We talked to the doctor about Max’s eating habits while we were there, too. A few days before his appointment, he started eating about 24 ounces a day instead of his usual 28-32 ounces. So the doctor suggested that he may be bored with his food and told us that we were welcome to start giving him rice cereal. He gave us some information about introducing solids to our baby. We also asked Dr. Gibson about Max’s dry, sensitive skin, and he suggested that this could be indicative of a peanut allergy. He told us to keep Max away from peanuts until he’s at least two years old--which means, no peanuts, no peanut butter, nothing with peanut oil, etc. I’m worried about other nuts because of this, too, so I think I’ll talk to the doctor before giving him any type of nut in the future.

The next day, on November 11, we gave Max his first taste of rice cereal. He doesn’t seem to be a fan so far!

Waiting for his food!

Yummy! Rice cereal!

Before!

After!

Not liking being fed from a spoon at all!!

My dad invited us over for dinner on November 13. He picked up a walker and a jumper for Max at a yard sale a while back. Max liked the walker more this time than he did last time, but this was his first time in the jumper and he LOVED it! I didn’t bring my camera that night and I forgot to save the ones Sean took to a disc, so I’ll have to upload them another time. But he seriously loved it once he figured it out!

We haven’t really been able to find a winter coat for Max this year, so I decided that he probably wouldn’t be outside much, anyway, and that the vest we bought him for the family pictures would probably do the job. But, I finally found a coat at Babies “R” Us. It was on the clearance rack for $8-something and was an additional 30% off, so I had to get it! No, it’s not the cutest coat in the world, but this will be the only year he wears it and it won’t be often that he does!

This picture was taken of him in his coat on November 15.

On November 17, I finally finished three hats I’ve been working on. One of those three was for Max and another was for Ry. Here are some pictures I got of them!

Before we went to bed last night, Ryan let Max ride Gavin! He tried with Malibu, but she wouldn’t hold still…

And now I’m all caught up through today! A year ago today is the day that Ryan and I found out that Max was on his way to us. I remember holding my breath and feeling my heart stop when I read the pregnancy test. I really didn’t expect it, but I was so incredibly happy that the test was positive. It is a day I don’t think I will ever forget.

Anyway, back to making hats… Hope you all are doing well!
